The Alberta Registered Nurses Assessment Program (ARNAP) is a standardized assessment that tests the knowledge, skills and judgement of internationally educated nurses (IENs) seeking nursing registration in Alberta. In addition to nursing skills, the ARNAP will assess candidates’ language proficiency and comprehension, performance in client interactions, ethics, and professionalism.
The College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) assesses the academic credentials of all internationally educated applicants to determine if the nursing program meets the equivalency requirement for challenging the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. Those whose education does not meet the CARNA’s requirements can alternatively be assessed in the ARNAP in order to demonstrate their level of competency with respect to nursing knowledge, skills and judgement. Candidates may attempt the test only once, so it’s important to ensure readiness.
For more information regarding how you can become eligible to take the ARNAP, please contact CARNA.
Location and Dates
ARNAP will be offered at the following test location on June 17, 2017:
