360° Project
A 360° View of Culture and Communication
The 360° Project vision is to articulate competencies that represent the communication requirements of Ontario’s contemporary workplace, particularly in multicultural and multilingual work spaces. Our Project objective is to create a 360° Communication Competency Framework supporting successful workplace communication.
To do so, we are applying a robust consensus building method that draws on existing linguistic, intercultural, communication competency frameworks. Through a multi-step process, we have engaged cross-sectoral expertise, and brought together
perspectives from inside and outside of the healthcare sector to gain diverse insights on common communication needs in the workplace.
Development of the 360° Culture and Communication Competency Framework is currently underway. By participating in our
360° Delphi, informed participants have identified the key culture and communication competencies essential to the development of a relevant and comprehensive competency framework. In late 2017, a Framework Development Working Group comprising of language, culture, and competency experts was established to synthesize the key competencies as indicated by the Delphi process into a comprehensive communication competency framework.
Currently, the 360° Project team is working on the finalization of the framework tool. More information on the 360
° Project is coming soon.
